Delhi – It’s rich history saturated with old stories reflects in beautiful heritage buildings tucked around the sprawling city. The dusty patina of the old stonewalls gives a rumbling beauty to the city landscape and one can almost hear the sounds of the past echoing. This city is a haven for gourmets. Right from traditional Mughlai nooks tucked behind Jama Masjid to fancy world class restaurants, Delhi has something for everyone. It’s vibrancy extends to it’s handlooms as well, filling the noisy bustling bazaars with a colorful display of local merchandise. Delhi is an exotic vivid destination deserving to be on your itinerary.
Agra – Famed with one of the Seven Wonders of the World – Taj Mahal, Agra is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Agra is a virtual fort of history and architecture located in the state of Uttar Pardesh in India. Historical monuments, architectural grandeur ventures and the beauty of marbles, Agra thrives as the best picnic spot in India. Located at the banks of River Yamuna, Agra offers the tourists the richest of the man made beauties including three UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Agra forts, Fatehpur Sikri and Taj Mahal. It is the haven of Mughal art, culture and architecture.
Jaipur – The Rose Pink City founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II (1693-1743), is the capital of Rajasthan. It is a major attraction for the first-time visitor. Jaipur is surrounded on all sides by rugged hills, crowned with forts & enclosed by embattled walls. Houses with latticed windows line the streets with their rose pink colour, lending enchantment to the scene, which is almost magical at sunset. Jaipur & its surroundings are rather like an endless museum. The city also offers an endless variety of crafts. Jewellers here still fashion the beautiful enamel-on-gold pendants, studded on the reverse with precious stones or pearls & turquoise that one sees in miniature paintings. Jaipur’s lacquer bangles are famous all over the world. This is a city to be visited.
Upon arrival, you will be received at the airport in New Delhi and transferred to the hotel, where a warm traditional welcome awaits you, complete with garlands, a welcome drink and sweets. Overnight stay at the hotel.
In the morning, go on a sightseeing tour of Delhi after breakfast. The highlights of the first half of the tour are Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; Red Fort; busy and narrow winding streets of old Chandani Chowk bazaar and its delicacies, all of which are situated in Old Delhi. The second half of the tour concentrates on New Delhi and has Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, Rajpath, India Gate, Parliament House, President’s Residence and shopping at Connaught Place and Palika Bazaar as its highlight. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Drive to Agra (which was the capital of Mughal Empire for a long time) after breakfast, which takes about four to five hours. Start your sightseeing tour of Agra by visiting the Agra Fort, which was built by three Mughal emperors. Akbar started the construction but died before the fort was complete. His son Jehangir continued the construction of the fort, later son of Jehangir-Shah Jahan-added new structures to the massive fort. After visiting Agra fort, we head to visit the most beautiful monument of India, the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1631-52, as a tomb and memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Next proceed to Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, built by Empress Noor Jehan in memory of her father; and shopping markets of Agra. Overnight stay at the hotel in Agra.
After breakfast, leave for Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. This city was built by Emperor Akbar but had to be abandoned soon due to scarcity of water. Some of its highlights are Sheikh Chi’s Tomb, Buland Darwaza, Panch Mahal and Jodha Bai’s Palace. Check in at the hotel at Jaipur on arrival. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City because all its building are in pink color. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.
After breakfast we proceed to visit the Amber Fort, located 11 kilometers away from Jaipur. En-route, visit the Hawa Mahal. Amber was the ancient capital of Kachawaha dynasty before Jai Singh founded Jaipur. Ride an elephant to reach the gates of the fort.The other highlights of the sightseeing tour of the day are City Palace with Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Deo Temple and the City Palace Museum; the observatory known as Jantar Mantar with masonry astronomical instruments; and Hawa Mahal known as ‘Palace of Winds’ with its honeycomb façade. In the evening we drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit Laxmi Narayan Mandir- a Hindu temple built in white marble. Spend the evening at leisure or go for shopping in the colorful bazaars of Jaipur. Overnight stay at the hotel.
This is the last day of the trip. After breakfast, check out from the Hotel & leave for Delhi, where you will be transferred to the airport so that you can catch your flight to onward destination.
