Srinagar – This summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir is in the wish list of many travelers, who want to see the beauty that Kashmir stands for. A paradise on earth, Srinagar was under the dark veil of militancy for over 15 years that ensured not many people visit this region. Srinagar was once the popular location for filming romantic Bollywood songs. Fortunately the paradise is not lost and travelers are coming back to take in the views of a city, which is scenically stunning and is steeped in history and culture.
Srinagar lies in Kashmir Valley and is located on the banks of the Jhelum. Srinagar is about 300 km north of Jammu, the winter capital of the state. The city is located at an altitude of 1730 meters above sea level. The very mention of the word Srinagar brings images of the Dal Lake, house boats, dry fruits and Kashmiri carpets.
Gulmarg – literally means meadow of flowers. It is a majestic hill station in the district of Baramulla of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The hill station, at an altitude of 2730 m, was earlier known as Gauri Marg, where Gauri stands for Goddess Parvati the wife of Lord Shiva. The name Gulmarg was given to this place by the King Yousuf Shah Chak. Nestled with stunning peaks in the Himalayan ranges, Gulmarg is a spectacular picnic spot attracted by all kinds of tourists with its lush green backdrop, beautiful landscapes, flowering gardens, serene lakes and pleasant climate during the summers and falls.
Pahalgam – is a hill station in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Mountain trails run northeast to Amarnath Cave Temple, a Hindu shrine and site of the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. Overa Aru Wildlife Sanctuary is home to animals including brown bears and musk deer. Northeast, the Lidder River runs through scenic Betaab Valley. Southeast, Tulian Lake is flanked by mountain peaks and often frozen
Sonamarg or Sonmarg – known as Sonamarag in Kashmiri, is a hill station located in the Ganderbal District of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is located about 62 Kilometers from Ganderbal Town and 80 kilometres northeast of the capital city, Srinagar. It is a place of enthralling beauty, lies in Sindh Valley, streamed with flowers, surrounded by mountains and perched at an altitude of 2690 m above sea level. Visited less frequently by tourists, it has as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a clear sky. It is a quiet alpine retreat surrounded with sycamore, silver birch, fir and pine trees and the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh.
Upon arrival at Srinagar airport, you will meet our representative who will transfer you to your prebooked Hotel in Srinagar.Afternoon visit different Mughal Gardens like Nishat Bagh, Chesham Shahi, and Shalimar Bagh, Chashmashahi garden along with famous Hazratbal Shrine which located along the banks of Dal Lake and Shankaracharya Temple which are located at distance of about 15-30 kilometers from Srinagar. Also visit the beautiful Tulip Gardens which are in full bloom only in the month of April. Later transfer to Houseboat. On arrival , check in to the Houseboat & later enjoy a relaxing Shikara ride on the lake – Its one of the most soothing & relaxing aspects of a holiday in Kashmir. Overnight stay at the houseboat in Srinagar.
In the morning after breakfast, check out from the Houseboat & proceed for a picturesque drive to Gulmarg. Gulmarg (Meadow of Gold) – It was discovered as a tourist destination by the British in the 19th century. Prior to that, Mughal emperors vacationed in the Gulmarg valley which is about 03 kms long and up-to 01 km wide. It is exquisitely situated in a pine surrounded basin of the Pir Panjal range at an altitude of 2,730 meters above sea level and one of the most famous tourist destinations of Kashmir. It also has one of the world’s highest green golf courses with 18 holes, as well as a clubhouse, which is a historical building in its own right. One can enjoy Gondola ride or Horse ride at Gulmarg (Optional). For a fun-filled ride of a most unusual kind, Gulmarg’s newly constructed gondola lift from high above Gulmarg, through pine-clad slopes is exhilarating. From Gulmarg a pony track leads upwards to Khilanmarg, Kangdori & seven springs, a couple of hours by pony longer on foot. Overnight stay at the hotel in Gulmarg.
In the morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel & drive to Pahalgam, en-route visit Saffron fields of Pampora, see the beautiful countryside, lots of rice fields and Awantipura ruins on the way. Later continue your drive to Pahalgam(Valley of Shepherds)through the pine forest, the confluence of the streams flowing from the river Lidder & Sheshnag Lake which are famous for their scenic beauty. After having your lunch at local restaurant, proceed to have bridle walks and feed your cameras with the picture of magnificent view of mountains. You can enjoy Horse ride at Pahalgam.(Optional).Overnight stay at the hotel in Pahalgam.
Today after breakfast proceeed for the sightseeing of Chandanwari, Betaab Valley, Baisaran Valley and Aru Valley at Pahalgam (Optional). Overnight stay at the hotel in Pahalgam.
After breakfast , Check out from the hotel and drive to Srinagar. Upon arrival, Check in and overnight stay at the hotel in Srinagar.
After having breakfast in the hotel, In the morning, you will be driven for full day excursion trip to Sonmarg. Sonamarg (Meadow of Gold) – It is a place of enthralling beauty, lies in Sindh Valley, streamed with flowers, surrounded by mountains and perched at an altitude of 2690 m above sea level. Visited less frequently by tourists, it has as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a clear sky. It is a quiet alpine retreat surrounded with sycamore, silver birch, fir and pine trees and the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh. It is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lakes. After having your lunch at local restaurant, feed your cameras with the picture of magnificent view of mountains.You can enjoy Horse ride at Sonmarg (Optional). Afternoon drive back from Sonmarg to Srinagar. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Srinagar.
This is the last day of the trip. After breakfast, check out from the Hotel & later you will be transferred to the airport so that you can catch your flight to your onward destination.
